ETTL's professional civil engineers, engineering geologists and other experts are at the service of its clients to carry out a great variety of physical geotechnical services, as well as for consultations, engineering evaluations, monitoring of vendor contractual performance, and a wide range of special studies. Architects and builders of a substantial percentage of the major buildings in the Tylerarea have called upon ETTL over the years for geotechnical engineering services (and construction materials engineering services as well), as have architects and builders in Longview and many other communities in East Texas and adjoining areas and states.
At right, ETTL engineers, during a geotechnical study, log readings as loads are applied against a test pile APG-cast in a difficult stratum of loose wet sand. The object was to learn what pile length would be best for some 140 cast-in-place piles to be used to support a new manufacturing plant addition.
ETTL's Geotechnical Services Include:
1. Test Borings.
2. Soil and Rock Core Sampling.
3. Ground-water Monitoring Well and Piezometer Installation.
4. Ground-water Seepage Studies.
5. Hydrogeologic and Geological Studies.
6. Laboratory and Field Soil Testing.
7. Foundation and Earthwork Recommendations for projects ranging from airports, bridges, communications and transmission towers, and dams ... to highways, parking lots, parks and zoos ... to manufacturing and educational facilities, office buildings, hospitals, prisons, stores, malls, restaurants, libraries, museums and warehouses. (At right, ETTL carried out geotechnical drilling beneath the bottom of Lake Palestine, near Tyler, Texas, in a study preparatory to the building of a pier to support a water intake system. A jack-up barge was used to provide stability as the drilling operation was carried out.)
8. Pavement Design.
9. Soil Resistivity Testing Services, especially for grounding system design and for existing grounding system installations.
10. Forensic Investigations and Expert Witness Services.
