ETTL Engineers & Consultants Inc. |
| An ETTL drilling rig atop a flat car drills down between ties of a bridge supported by creosoted wooden pilings at the Texas State Railroad Historical Park, taking soil samples so they can be tested for properties in ETTL's geotechnical laboratories. From their findings, ETTL's engineers made a static analysis and recommended the depths to which steel pilings for a new bridge should be driven to provide some 90 tons of support per pile. They also evaluated the final pile design. Over a several-year period, ETTL's engineers carried out such studies for upwards of 20 bridges at the Park, which was replacing the older bridges along its run between Palestine and Rusk, Texas. | ![]() |
