Construction Materials Engineering (CME)
Field Technician

Description

The CME Field Technician meets with contractor supervisors, architect's representatives or other project leaders on project sites to discuss and coordinate testing, sampling, or inspection of construction materials or construction procedures. The CME Field Technician insures the safe utilization, storage and maintenance of all nuclear gauges. Other responsibilities include updating the supervisor and dispatcher on progress and delays on every project, and the submitting of accurate and complete inspection reports on a daily basis.


Requirements

High School or GED Certification.

Must possess valid drivers license and meet ETTL's auto insurability requirements. (A company vehicle is provided.)
Oral and written skills to communicate problems, status of work, daily reports, and the like.
Ability to use math skills to analyze sample results.
Ability to work outside and to work on equipment.
Ability to read and understand instructions, labels, reports, etc.
Ability to travel to project sites and maneuver over rough and uneven terrain.
Present a professional appearance to best represent the firm.
Completion of Troxler Manufacturing or equal radiation safety course to utilize nuclear gauges.

Ability to handle heavy lifting (45 or more pounds), and the ability to use hand tools such as shovels, picks and sledgehammers.
